Energy Certification

Useful information about the "sticker" for your property.

Since January 2009 the energy certificate must be presented when you sell or let a property. It provides information about the energy efficiency of buildings and you get to know if the electric load for heating and so on is relatively high or if energy is used economically.

- Advantage for tenants/buyers:
Overview of the expected energy consumption
(and the expected energy costs)
- Advantage for landlords/sellers:
Proof for the energetic condition of a building

Important: Have a closer look on page 2 of you energy certification!
On page 2 you find the definite energy need of your building including all its losses and the expected yearly energy consumption of your property.
The lower this figure is, the lower are the expected heating costs – and the more precious is your property.

Where can I get the energy certification?
Attention: In Austria, energy certifications assessment may only be undertaken by licensed and accredited assessors. The requirements vary from state to state.
